Gathering in Person + Sunday Morning Resources

I’m sure by now you’ve all heard the news that the Supreme Court of the United States ruled in favor of churches in California. The governor cannot place undue restrictions on churches, which means that we can meet in person again. Praise God! This changes everything.

We are so excited about this new development. This ruling by the Supreme Court is a clear reminder that God is always in charge. What a great moment to celebrate our sovereign and creative God. I hope you’re rejoicing with me. I also pray that this gives you hope in other areas of your life where you seem to be stuck as you wait for your circumstances to change.

I hope you watched the video Kim and I made this week where we lay out some of the ways this new development will impact us here at TCC. As we gather again in person, we will continue to take our responsibility seriously to provide a safe and healthy environment for everyone who comes. Here’s what you can expect:

We will gather in person at 9:00 and 11:00am.
Children, birth through fifth grade, will meet at 9:00 and 11:00am.
Junior High School students will meet at 11:00am.
We will practice the social distancing efforts we’ve all become accustomed to observing.
Please be aware of the space between you and others.
We will wear masks to protect ourselves and others. If you need a mask, we will have one for you. If you cannot wear a mask for an extended time due to physical reasons or allergies, please wear one while entering, standing, or exiting.
We will sanitize before, during, and after services to keep our surfaces germ free.
We will receive offerings and Connection Cards as you exit the auditorium.

We can’t wait to have people back in the room again. Last Sunday, thirty-eight people showed up for our 9:00am service, and it was awesome. We can be excited as we anticipate 225 people gathering to worship God in each service. We can’t wait to see your eyes and hear your voice. I’m so happy and excited for this new step in our journey, and I believe God will honor the path we’ve taken over the past eleven months. I look forward to seeing how God pours out His blessings of abundance over our church. See you Sunday!

We want to serve you better, so we’re changing the day my email blast/blog is delivered to your inbox. We’re now going to send this to you on Friday. This will allow us to include links to the weekly Message Notes, Community Group Study Guide, and Children’s and Student’s information so you can be prepared for the online experience at 9:00 and 11:00am each Sunday. You will have time to print your Message Notes before the service begins, allowing you to gain even more from our gathering.

Grow University begins in March, and now is the time to choose which class you want to take to help you grow. Here are this session’s classes.

Resolving Everyday Conflict will help you improve your communication skills and learn to resolve conflict in a healthy way. 
GriefShare will support you to find healing after loss and learn ways to cope with the deep sadness, loneliness, and confusion that comes with the loss of a loved one or someone close. 
Financial Peace University will assist you to gain financial stability and learn how to manage your money and reduce your debt. 
Be with Jesus will show you how to deepen your relationship with God and learn practices that will draw you closer to Him.

No matter which area you are hoping to grow in this year, remember: God is WITH you every step of the way and He’s already moving mountains for you because He loves you. Parents, please make sure to pick up your Feb/March At-Home Kit on Sunday or at church during the week. This kit includes an activity you can engage in together as a family that will help you prepare for Easter and observe Lent. If you want to know more or call to reserve your kit, contact Alexis.

On Sunday, we continue our Walking the Way of Wisdom series. This week, we’ll take a look at what Proverbs has to say about Wisdom and PRIDE. The writers of Proverbs have much to say about the damage pride causes to us individually and relationally. I hope you’ll make sure to join us in person or tune in online this weekend to hear God’s Word for you.

The Blessing of Suffering + Sunday Morning Resources

Life doesn’t always go the way we hoped it would, does it? Disappointment, loss, conflict, unanswered prayers — suffering is a very real part of the human experience. But as painful as it is, our suffering isn’t necessarily meaningless, nor is it beyond God’s ability to use for good. I’m still overwhelmed by last week’s baptism service, where 40 of our brothers and sisters in Christ went public with their faith. It was a powerful reminder of the transformative work God is doing in our church community. Spirit of the Loving God + Sunday Morning Resources

This weekend we’re continuing to explore the role that the Holy Spirit plays in real, lasting transformation. The Spirit of Change + Sunday Morning Resources

Are You Born Again? + Sunday Morning Resources

In our current series, How We Change , we are learning how to take hold of the life that is really life. We’ve already explored the power of our thoughts and our practices, but many of us have felt the same discouraging pattern: we can hold it together for a while… and then something gives, willpower fades, and we find ourselves right back in the places we hoped we’d leave behind. So, this week we’re naming the tension we all feel: what if the change we long for requires more than willpower, insight, or better habits? Remembering God’s Faithfulness to Us This Year + Sunday Morning Resources

As we come to the final Sunday of the year, we’ll pause to do something sacred: remember . Together, we’ll look back and reflect on the many ways God has been faithful to us, celebrating the stories, milestones, and blessings He has poured out on our church family over this past year. It’s a moment to give thanks and to recognize that every good gift truly comes from Him. We’ll also gather around the Lord’s Table and celebrate communion, our tangible reminder that while we are grateful for what God has done, the best is still ahead. Because of Jesus, we don’t just look back with gratitude, we look forward with hope. We have eternity with Him to look forward to.
