Let’s Talk About It has resonated so much with our church and even our community in a way that shows how much people need to hear about God’s concern for their whole being. I’ve been encouraged and challenged by the sheer volume of responses to the messages in this series, but I’ve been moved even more by the depth of the responses. I am amazed at the trust you show by revealing the hurts and hangups that have kept you captive and living in shame. Please remember that revealing your feeling is the beginning of your healing, but it’s not the end. Let’s keep these conversations going because our world is becoming even more fractured, and people are even more fragile and in need of a relationship with the God who cares.
This Sunday we wrap up the series by talking about financial health. Did you know that Jesus talked more about money than He did about Heaven or Hell? Did you know that money is seen as the key to our worship? What we do with money – spend it, save it, give it, invest it – shows where our hearts are focused. On Sunday, we’ll talk about moving from greed – the desire to have more and more – to contentment – the ability to be satisfied with what we’ve been given.
We will also have a time to remember those who have died in serving our country to preserve the freedoms we get to experience. Memorial Day is more than a day for picnics; it’s also a day to express gratitude for the men and women who gave their lives for others.
Please know that I am praying for you and your family and friends as we continue down this path to wholeness and healing.
