Students Camping Trip


If you're a student, you won't want to miss this amazing J1JO campout!

When:
Monday, August 5 - Wednesday, August 7, 2024

Meet at TCC at 9am on Monday, back by noon Wednesday


There is a mandatory pre-camping trip meeting on Sunday, August 4, at 12:30PM (after TCC’s second service) in the Student Room, to cover details and answer questions.


Where:

Lakes Basin area

Above Bassetts (Highway 49, just past Sierra City). We will be camping at Snag Lake.


What:

Come join us on an amazing J1JO camping trip! Whether you are an experienced camper and outdoors person or you’ve never done it but always wanted to try, this is the trip for you! Fun, new friends, adventure, hiking to so many lakes (and swimming!), opportunities for spiritual renewal (worship around the campfire, devo’s, inspirational messages to draw you closer to Jesus), and more. Don't miss the adventure! See the packing list below for what you need to bring.

 

Cost:

$45 (includes food, transportation, camping fees, etc.)

WHAT TO BRING...

  • Sleeping bag
  • Tent (we can share larger tents, so not everyone needs to bring one)
  • Hammock or tarp (if you want to sleep outdoors, optional)
  • Camping clothes (hot during the day, cool at night)
  • Modest swimsuit & towel
  • At least 2 pairs of shoes (one pair to hike in)
  • Personal toiletries (toothpaste/brush, deodorant, etc.) — There will NOT be showers, but plenty of water opportunities!
  • Flashlight/headlamp
  • Camping chair (strongly encouraged)
  • Daypack (small backpack) to carry water, snacks, sunscreen etc. on day trips
  • Sunscreen, hat (recommended), mosquito spray
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Cards & other games (and a book?) for hang time/play time (optional)
  • Snacks/personal food (to supplement meals) — These won’t go in your tents (for bear safety)!
  • A Bible & notebook/journal & pen—J1JO!
  • Fishing pole & gear (optional)
  • Inflatable water toys/boats (optional)
