I am humbled by your response to the first week holistic Biblical living series called Let’s Talk About It. We dug deeply into the crucial topic of mental and emotional health – the real pandemic of our age. If you missed Sunday’s service, please, please, please watch it before this week. You will get so much more out of it if you do.
We opened the box and discussed things we’re usually not honest about. We talked about mental health myths and sources of mental health struggles. Then we laid out a plan for our church on how to respond with love and empathy to those who struggle – because we all struggle in some way.
I told you on Sunday that I would give you a short diagnostic tool to help you know your level of mental and emotional distress, but after looking at it more thoroughly, I realized that without a qualified mental health care professional, it might cause more distress than could be managed in isolation. I just didn’t get the time I needed this week to get it fine-tuned so I don’t feel comfortable sharing it. Thank you for understanding.
This Sunday, we will be talking about emotional health as we unpack the two most common struggles people say they face today. I will give some concrete steps people with mild or moderate levels of anxiety and depression can take to help regulate their emotional responses to the situations, circumstances, medical, clinical, biological, relational, and spiritual catalysts for our problems.
Please know that I am praying for you and your family and friends as we continue down this pathway to wholeness and possible healing.
